The Warren County Genealogical Society (WCGS) was organized in April 1973 and is an affiliate of the Iowa Genealogical Society.
Purpose: WCGS members aid individuals as they begin, develop, and follow their family’s time and place in history.
Membership: Dues are $10.00 per year. Dues may be sent to WCGS, PO Box 151, Indianola, Iowa 50125. Newsletters are published electronically quarterly.
Meetings: WCGS does not hold regular meetings. In June we traditionally have a picnic in a local cemetery, followed by a program about that cemetery. In July the society sponsors genealogy exhibits at the Warren County Fair. We host a research retreat in May and November. Watch the website or Facebook page for the dates.
Guests are always welcome. We invite everyone interested in genealogy to attend our meetings and become a participant in our activities.
