During 2002 long-time WCGS member, Thelma Pehrson, transcribed the 1895 census records from the microfilm, with the reader set up in her dining room and working as much as her eyes would permit. Then, Carol Kubik undertook the task of typing it, which also took many months, but first she took classes to learn enough Microsoft Excel to accomplish the task. Finally, Marieta Grissom created the indexes and prepared the documents for final publication. It was published in sections, one township at a time.
