Lacona Baptist Church

History of the Lacona Baptist church is abstracted from the book, Lacona, Iowa 1856-2006, by the Lacona Heritage Committee, 2006, p. 42.
A group of eight people had Bible study in the Lacona School and in October of 1989 decided to rent the vacant Konrad General Store in Lacona. After renovating the building, they purchased it and turned it into a church. Their pastors have included Bob CARROLL, Gary MORRIS, Bill SPENCER, Mike RONAN, Charles HENTHORN, Jeff PORTER. The name of the church was originally The Bible Center, then changed to Lacona Bible Baptist Church, and now is known as Lacona Baptist Church.
