Norwalk Crossroads Church, 2601 Border Street, Norwalk, Iowa 50211, phone (515) 287-8580, http://2thecrossroads.com/index.aspx?parentnavigationid=18273

Copied from the North Warren Town and County News newspaper, Norwalk, IA, Thursday, Feb 22, 2007, “Crossroads’ New Ministry Center Opens Sunday; First Service at 9:30 a.m.”

Excitement builds for members of Crossroads Church as their new Ministry Center, located at 8203 Beardsley, opens for the first worship service this Sunday, Feb 25, 2007, at 9:30 a.m., according to Pastor Glen Blumer. The 16,100 square foot ministry center houses several meeting rooms, office space, restrooms with showers, a coffee shop “Holy Grounds,” a gathering area enhanced with sound and video equipment and a multi-purpose “gymatorium” able to seat approximately 350 people.

The Crossroads congregation is pleased with the functionality of the new ministry center and is excited about opening it to the Norwalk Community and beyond, according to Pastor BLUMER. They envision it to be a highly utilized facility where groups of all ages worship and gather for fellowship.

Working alongside their contractor, people used their gifts and talents to build walls, hang and texture drywall, run electrical conduit, construct a garage, paint, stain doors and windows, install lightning fixtures and door hardware, clean and install video and sound equipment. Much of the work was possible by the generous gifts of time donated by professional electricians and other people of trades who attend Crossroads Church….. they believe in the vision of the Crossroads’ ministry which is summed up in its purpose statement, “Walking in the footsteps of Jesus, Seeking, Serving and Sharing.”

The official Open House celebration is scheduled for Saturday, March 31, 2007 from 1 to 3 p.m. The Saturday Open House will be followed by a Grand Opening Sunday celebration on Palm Sunday, April 1, 2007. Crossroads Church invites everyone to these events. Area residents are invited to share a Biblical message with a contemporary approach. Worship is casual, so come as you are.
