    New Virginia Grace Baptist Church

New Virginia Grace Baptist Church, 304 Knotts Street, New Virginia, Iowa 50210 [formerly New Virginia Evangelical Free Church].

History of the Grace Baptist Church of New Virginia, Iowa is copied from “Data on Warren County Churches” at the State Historical Society of Iowa, Des Moines, IA, film # War-56 (LDS film # 1034022)

September 1959, a group of fundamental believers in this community secured Pastor Keith TURNIPSEEP of Des Moines to help start a church. They met in homes until November 29, 1959. They were then organized as the Evangelical Free Church and were meeting in a rented building in New Virginia. There were 15 Charter members. The original of the present church building was built in November of 1961. The first services were held in this building December 3, 1961. An addition to this building was made in December 1970.

On August 4, 1971 the church chose to withdraw from the Evangelical Free Association and our church is now Grace Baptist of New Virginia – thus far independent. Outside of the two year period, we have had only part-time pastors until April 29, 1973; our present Pastor, Greg BOYLE, and wife came to serve. We are on the move for the Lord at Grace Baptist.

    Note:
In 1984 the church was accepted in to the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. November 25, 1984 was the 25th Anniversary of this congregation.
